Description: May 9, 1863, handwritten pass from the commander of the 25th Maine Regiment at Chantilly, VA for Sgt. Major Cummings and Sgt. Spiller to go to Chantilly and return with Horace Burrows. I'm not sure if it could be for an arrest. There was a Horace Burrows who deserted in VA later that year, but he hadn't enlisted until August, so this probably isn't him. Approx. 5.5" x 7.75."
