François Pierre Guillaume Guizot was a French historian, orator, and statesman. Guizot was a dominant figure in French politics prior to the Revolution of 1848. Richard Cromwell was Lord Protector of England, Scotland and Ireland after the death of his father, Oliver Cromwell, in 1658. He lacked authority and was eventually forced to resign and the monarchy was restored in 1660. CONDITION In brown cloth bindings by 'Edmond & Remnants' London. Externally lightly rubbed with fading to boards and spines and light bumping to extremities. Internally, binding strained in places. Pages are clean and bright throughout.
