Description: "Ellerton Abbey" A fine lithograph titled faintly bottom right, showing the ruins of the Cistercian Priory that lies on the River Swale in Yorkshire. The imprint, at present under the bottom edge of the mount, reveals that the image is after a painting by Richardson, engraved by Needham and published by R. Sunter in York in June, 1855. From his book "The Monastic Ruins of Yorkshire." A most attractive and rare print, the scene enhanced by the fisherman casting in the foreground.A scarce item. Size: the mount measures approx. 45cms x 35cms.Condition: Good handcolouring. Small marks along the top edge, and a bit of foxing top right, much of which could be covered if the mount was re-aligned, with the added advantage of revealing the imprints that are at present hidden under the lower edge of the mount. Please study the photographs. Postage: £5.00 within the UK. £12.00 to Europe, £16.00 to USA etc.I have other antique prints, books, maps etc. in my ebay shop - please see my other items.
