SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 13.5 x 11.5 cm (5.25 x 4.5 inches) plus margins with a blank back (small). ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: Engraved by William Forrest from a study by Thomas Creswick. Thomas Creswick RA (5 February 1811 – 28 December 1869) was an English landscape painter and illustrator, and one of the best-known members of the Birmingham School of landscape painters. PROVENANCE: Published in “The Poetical Works of Sir Walter Scott” (Edinburgh : 1847). TYPE: Antique engraving printed on paper. VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is blank. CONDITION: Good; suitable for framing. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Woodstock is a market town and civil parish 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Oxford in Oxfordshire, England. Edward, elder son of King Edward III and heir apparent, was born in Woodstock Manor on 15 June 1330. In his lifetime he was commonly called Edward of Woodstock, but is known today as the Black Prince.
