Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE SPORTING MAGAZINE 1846 Third Series Vol 7 published by J Rogerson, London in that year. It contains all the issues from January to June. There are 12 b/w plates throughout, of dogs, horses, horse racing, jockeys, shooting etc. There are also 2 comical illustrations by 'Phiz' best known for his illustrations in Charles Dickens novels. Bound in half dark brown leather on light brown marbled hardboards. 2 dark green leather title and volume blocks. Chipped to head and tail. Some minor wear to corners. Front endpaper has a bookplate for Sir Joseph Radcliffe, Baronet. Foxing to endpapers, title page and to some plates. All others are clean. Marbled page edges. Condition: very good. 428 pages + index, 21 cm x 14 cm. If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money.
