This is the 1845 one franc silver coin issued by the Canton of Vaud. The obverse of the coin shows the canton of Vaud Shield which is white and green and has the words "Liberty et Patrie" on top within springs and having the legend "Canton De Vaud 10 Aout1845" surrounding the shield. The reverse shows a knight standing next to a shield with a spear in his left hand. There is the legend "CONFEDERATION SUISSE" surrounding the design and the denomination "1 FRANC" below. The coin is listed as KM 22 in Krause Standard Catalog of World Coins, weighs about ~7.1 gm and is ~27 mm in diameter. The piece is nicely toned with some light hairlines but has great eye appeal.
