Illustrated by William Allen, David Roberts, William Simon, Henry Warren, C. E. Aubrey, and William Harvey. Graingerised with ten additional plates inserted and images pasted from previous owner. Pasted image to the front endpapers, to reverse of introduction page, and reverse of all six plates. Images also pasted to cover the first introductory pages of: The Maiden Tribute, The Wedding of Lady Theresa, Ximena Demands Vengeance, The Pounder, The King of Arragon, The Death of Don Alonzo of Aguilar, The Captive Knight and the Blackbird, and Count Alarcos and the Enfanta Solisa. Bound by Hayday & Mansell. CONDITION In the original full green morocco binding with marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the extremities and boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages. Some plates from other works have been very neatly fixed into the book with paper and paste. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Neatham Mill Library embossed stamp to rear endpaper.
