Description: This is an old New York Circuit Court document, dated March 23, 1838. It is concerned with a case from Rensselaer County. The judge in this case was John P. Cushman (1784-1848), who also served in Congress as a member of the Federalist Party. The case involved two men, Amherst Betts andJohn Reynolds. This document is partly printed and partly handwritten. It is signed by a court clerk named Henry R. Bristol. This man might be the same Henry R. Bristol who was born in 1797, died in 1855, and who is buried in Pittsford Cemetery, in Monroe County, New York. The document is about 13" by 8".
