Very nice fold out at front detailing the orbits of the planets as well as nine astronomical plates at rear with details of various planets, orbits and so forth. Considered a thorough text for the introduction of astronomy, there are problems and questions in the rear starting at page 126. Hilliard, Gray, Little and Wilkins were part of the publishing firm that ordered books for the University of Virginia at the request of Thomas Jefferson. This particular copy has the front board off and the back board cracked at the gutter as well as some torn pages and torn paper over the publishers board at rear. Foxing and some tide marks.
