Description: Offered for your consideration is an Original 195 Year Old -1828 Antique Atlas Map. This Map was removed form an 1828 edition Brue Atlas and is in very good condition. Originally engraved in 1827. This map was harvested from an antique atlas book that was in very poor and unusable condition. I have included pictures (not the best) to show off the full measure of the map. My Widetek 25 scanner has a max bed/scan size of 25" x 18.5", so if a map is a little larger some of the margin is cut off during the scan. These Brue's have very healthy margins. This fine map of Oceania / Australia is in very good condition with very minimal wear (centerfold reinforced with acid free clear archival repair tape) you would typically see on a map of this age. A really curious feature of the map, is that Australia is still shown as "Nouvelle Hollande" or New Holland named after the arrival of the dutch explorers. You can also just make out part of Mexico in the top right corner of the map. The page is approx 20.8" x 26.5". The paper is incredibly heavy and even embossed with an official French seal. Exceedingly nice map of a very high quality. Ships USPS priority + fully insured. Willing to combine shipping on multiple lots.
