The Right Reverand Richard Watson (1737-1816) was Bishop of Landaff from 1782 to 1816. He was the great-great-great-grandfather to Reverand David Watson (1933-1984), a renowned British evangelical clergyman. This is a large size book measuring approximately 11" tall and 9" wide. Book is quarter-bound in brown leather with leather tips. The spine is beautiful! It has gold lettering with gold ornamentation with blind-stamped designs. All covers are firmly attached with no cracking of or splitting of hinges, either inside or outside. The covers have some sun-fading. All pages are very clean and tightly bound with very little foxing. The outside edges of pages have attractive swirling design on all three edges. The book a tasteful bookplate of previous owner, George Pim. This book is in very good-plus condition. The book is almost 200 years old and quite rare and collectible.
