Containing issues from: Blackwood's Magazine, a British magazine and miscellany printed between 1817 and 1980 founded by the publisher William Blackwood. The Quarterly Review, a literary and political periodical founded in March 1809 by London publishing house John Murray. The New Monthly Magazine, a British monthly magazine published from 1814 to 1884, founded by Henry Colburn and published until 1845. Volume one is illustrated with two plates. Volume two is illustrated with four plates. Volume one contains: Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine No. CCLXVI December, 1837, Vol. XLII; Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine No. CCXCV May, 1840,, Vol. XLVII; and The Quarterly Review April & July 1817, Vol. XVII. Volume two contains: New Monthly Magazine and Humorist, Contents for September; The New Monthly Magazine and Humorist, Contents for January; The New Monthly Magazine and Humorist, Contents for February; The New Monthly Magazine and Humorist, Contents for March, circa 1841. CONDITION Bound in half green calf with marbled boards. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot and light age toning to the extremities.
