Description: Here is a copy of the Frederich Goeb Bible printed in Somerset. It is known to be the first German Bible printed west of the Alleghenies. Goeb calls it the first edition in America but it is actually the fifth American edition. There is a verification letter included with the Bible written in 1954 pasted inside the front cover that tells a lot more about the Bible (see photo). The book itself is in fair to good condition. The front board is split but completely intact. The binding shows some serious wear and tear and the backboard is in better condition. The binding is tight and all the pages hold together well but it does show some serious wear and tear. pages are in good condition and easy to view with minimal staining. No illustrations.
