Description: Wooden box with hand forged hardware, including a handle, hinges and a locking closure. Wood still has the original saw marks, and appears to be quite old, but still well looked after. Not sure what this type of box could have been used for, but this was a style in or around India in the year 1400-, they called them Nettur Petti. This box was made by hand circa 1800-1850. It’s a very interesting conversation piece, you will be glad you bought! 17.6” x 12.75” footprint.
