Description: ** NOTE: Research has shown that these notes were printed in Colorado, USA, by order of the US Government for the the purpose of devaluing the Pancho Villa Dos Caritas currency along the border and take down Villa after officially recognizing the Government of Carranza. They never circulated since Villa was defeated before issue. Very few are known to exist, some with signatures and seals which were discovered only after the "MPM" Catalog was compiled. Known as the "Dos Caritas" issue, these true revolutionary were issued by military decree and, due to profuse counterfeiting activities of the era, many contain overprinted or rubber stamped validations ("resellos") for the many regions in which they circulated as well official seals and control letters on either side.. Great information regarding the Seal, Control Letters (CLs) and resellos can be found in the "MEXICAN PAPER MONEY" catalogs available today. Some combinations of seals, CLs and resellos are quite scarce and/or rare.
