Description: Here is a 1764 German 1/12 Thaler minted in silver. The coin is in amazingly good shape considering the 254-year age. Check out the close up photos showing detail of the devices with evidence of very little circulation. Given the detail in which it retains over the majority of the surface, the one edge of the coin that looks worn must be due to soft-strike. Although Thalers have been around since the 1500's, it has been said that the word "Thaler" is a direct link to what we now call a "Dollar". This coin should be worth around $260, but due to the small lamination defect and softer strike, I believe it has been priced very fairly. Silver coins are always preferred and remain in high demand.
