Description: Rare Early 1700’s English Pewter Plate by Thomas Phillips , 9 1/2” LONDON Marks. c. 1727. This sturdy pewter plate is hand forged and shows evidence of wear consistent with age. Two touch marks on the back: one is the Crown over X and the other is by Thomas Phillips bearing his name and a cock perched over a rose. Thomas Phillips placed this touch mark in the pewterers guild registry in the year 1727. DIMENSIONS: slightly over 9 1/2” diameter. 1 pound 2.1 ounces.
