Description: An attractive hand written 17th century Indenture on vellum. Nice calligraphy. 3 pendant wax seals which are larger than normal and in good condition. Measures 21 inches by 14 inches. Dated 3 May 1657. People named in the agreement are: • Thomas Chamberlayne of the City of London, Merchant. • Lawrence Halsteed of Bray in the County of Berks, Esq. • William Foster of Aldermaston in the County of Berks, Esq. • Moyles (?) Maynard of Wynersh (Winnersh) in the Parish of Hurst in the County of Berks, Gent. Relates to the Grant and Release of a Messuage and one yard land called Seamans lying in Winnersh within the Manor of Sonning in the County of Berks - in the possession of occupation of Joane Maynard, Widow.
