Lightly toned throughout with minor instances of foxing. The occasional age spot throughout. A few small notations in old hand scattered throughout the text. All edges speckled. Binding tight and intact. Nicely preserved. Please see photos. Scarce work of Italian poetry by Renaissance poet Cesare Caporali (1531-1601). Caporali was passionate and known for reading and translating Horace. His works were inspirations for Cervantes’ Viaje al Parnaso. Armorial library bookplate of English Heritage site Wrest Park, a country estate located in Silsoe, Bedfordshire, England. The mansion has an early eighteenth-century garden and originally laid out by George London and Henry Wise for Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Kent.
