Description: One of the most wonderful items of postal history I have ever had the honor to offer for sale: Scott #15L14 Blood's Penny Post - Bronze on Lilac, acid tied accompanied by a black Philadelphia cancel of July 21, 1854 on a Scott #11. The letter is signed at the end "Sam'l N. Morris Phila 7 Mo 21 1854" - the presentation of the date being that the writer may be a quaker. It is headed "My Beloved Children." Content is exceptional - talking in detail about comings and goings while they are at Cape Island and the writer being in Philadelphia. Likely taken by a sailor on another ship who posted it at Philadelphia. Stamp is acid-tied and I notice no faults - it's nice. This is a gorgeous item. Desirable usage in connection.
