To help understand the effectiveness of this new low pressure design, it may be helpful to take a technical step back to explain that the traditional black carbon pad is really the "charging medium" which delivers the electronic polarized charge to the glass media fibers in the two surrounding pads. It is these powerfully charged media fibers, not the carbon pad, which are responsible for trapping and fusing the air borne particulate that makes the MicroPower Guard so effective.
