14TH NEW HAMPSHIRE CIVIL WAR SOLDIER LETTER FROM COUSIN 1862

Description: An original letter from, "Lizzie" to her cousin Lieutenant Frank Liscom, 14th New Hampshire Volunteers, humorously addressed by her from "Camp Glenwood, West Brattleboro", Nov 23, 1862- She is pleased he is well & nursing Sam (Brother Samuel, also in Company A, 14th NHV ) back to health, she recalls his last visit, "breaking the girls hearts". She reports taht she writes nonsense because the soldiers need it, and asks Sam to shoot a rebel for her. She approves of their "foraging" secesh food, and hears they may go to Texas- please give "The Yellow Rose" her love, and she sends love from "the girls".
