Description: Auction for lot of US WW2 Named Army Good Conduct Medal, Enlisted Artillery collar insignia, 3 unit crests (one on card). This material is from a soldier who served in the Pacific during WWII with the 138th Field Artillery Regiment and the 198th Field Artillery Regiment attached to the 38th Infantry Division. Most probably he had pre-war service in the Kentucky NG and probably post war service based on the DUI's. Requires more research but using a unit roster/Day reports (obtainable from NPRC) or other means it might be possible to find his records. Items found at local flea market. 1. US Army Good Conduct Medal in box bottom. No box top. Medal is stamped H.F. Beals2. Two Enlisted Artillery collar disk/insignia. Both insignia are the the silver dress dome types. The US is a clutch back and marked Gemsco. The Artillery is a clutch back. Clutches were added. 3. One DUI for the 138th Field Artillery Regiment and two for the 198th Field Artillery Regiment. The 138th has black sharpie that should be removeable. It has manufacturer's mark, Sherman on back. It is on it's original card. It is a clutchback. The two 198th FA are pinback, marked Meyer 9M. These insignia show use with some chips and minor verdigris on one. This would place them in the Vietnam Era. I speculate the soldier served post war in the the Kentucky National Guard and these were his later unit crests. Collar disk/medal/DUI show normal wear/tear associated with age. This includes toning of collar insignia. Medal on rough box bottom. Unit crest card shows wear, one pin bent. Also has 138th FA in black sharpie (should be able to remove).
