The paddle is easily removable so that the stock battery you have can still be used as well!A note regarding battery drain - Stacyc bikes have a low voltage cutoff built into the bike, but designed around their own OEM batteries. If you regularly overdraw the Dewalt, or Milwaukee batteries, they may quit being recognized by the charger. SO - be careful and change batteries when low, and do not leave on bikes overnight as the phantom draw may brick the battery.
