Description: This is a SCALE VRC-12 Radio antenna called AS-1729 for M60a1 and M60a3 and M1 Abrams tanks and any US vehicle before 1991. These are made by me, RichJohnson_Models_N_Stuff. The antenna is built up from brass wire and a flexible rubber base using a special process to represent the tapered two segment fiberglass antennas that were used with the VRC-12 radios in US tanks from 1965-1991. This is an exact replica of the antenna as I have the real thing to measure from right down to the bolt heads. The beautiful scale bases were made to exacting specifications for me by my friends at JVM3D Concepts. Just the scale base is a masterpiece detail part. The tapered antenna features the appearance of the two section fiberglass whip with a scale antenna tip that is a teardrop shaped plastic topper held on by electrical tape on the real antenna. You can flex the antenna back and forth at the flexible rubber spring section or give the antenna a slight bend and then tie it down on your model for that distinctive look if you intend not to remove it. But if you bend it and tie it down for a long time, the rubber base will likely take a permanent position and never straighten out again so be aware of that.
