Description: A 19th century blown glass cylindrical shaped jar with two applied concentric lavenderish-blue rings with domed lid. Lid also has hand applied ring, trapped air bubble within the finial showing a snapped but mostly smooth pontil mark. Rough pontil mark to the base. Known as Pittsburgh glass the canister could have been from any number of glass blowing houses in the area. Others in this same shape and design point to Bakewell. No chips, cracks or repairs. Underside outer edge shows normal level of age related scuffs and wear. Small random air bubbles and minor imperfections present. Overall height about 11 1/4" tall.
