Card #11 - Alton (Al) BENTON, Detroit Tigers, from the 1942 Play Ball - U.S.A. set issued in 1976 by HRT/RES Several years before TCMA (The Card Memorabilia Associates, Ltd.) issued eight series in an effort to continue Gum, Incorporated's popular Play Ball series of 1939 to 1941, two Philadelphia area collectors - Ted Taylor (HRT) and Bob Schmierer (RES) combined to issue an excellent series which they called, "1942 Play Ball - U.S.A." The cards were well executed, offering collectors team and player favorites of the era. Condition: Excellent/Near-Mint or better Shipping OPTIONS are available - YOUR CHOICE of either eBay standard envelope service (ESE) which is cheaper with slower delivery or USPS Ground Advantage (more costly for single cards but much faster delivery).
