This is a shorter, well-behaved cousin of the Plains Coreopsis. And like their cousin, they are also drought tolerant and tough as nails. Plains Coreopsis grow 3'-4' tall and fall over under their own weight. The dwarf version does not do this. They stand upright about 12"-16" tall and bloom mid-summer until first frost. If a few flowers are left alone to live out their life cycle they will reseed readily. Coreopsis wildflowers are very easy to grow from seeds. They will tolerate some shade but need at least 5-6 hrs. of direct sun, and light water. There not picky about soil, a crack in the sidewalk will do! Blooms have yellow tips on the petals and reddish/Brown centers. Great for cutting and attracts Butterflies and Bees. Very strong re-seeder. Overall, pretty much a carefree flower after established that will come back year after year. 2000+seeds per order. Thank You! Coreopsis tinctoria. Annual, that reseeds. Full sun. Spring, soil temp 65F+ or Fall. If planted in fall, they will over-winter as a small bunch of leaves, and will take off in early spring. SOW 1/16"deep,4"apart. Keep moist. Germination 14-28 Days. Thin to 12". Height 12 -16" x 12" Wide. Light water after established. Cut plant in half when harvesting flowers or deadheading. Flowers are yellow. Blooms from mid-summer through fall.
