Description: This auction is for ten 2003 $2 Low Serial Number Federal Reserve Notes from my pile of "orphaned" notes leftover from a project to build consecutive and matched sets over the past 20 years. See the list of available four-digit numbers below. In 2003 the Bureau of Engraving and Printing created 2000 12-district matched serial number souvenir sets of $2003 star notes with low serial numbers for collectors. The serial numbers on the matched sets went from ~#2100 (about 100 of the original 2000 sets had to be destroyed due to printing errors), up to 16,000 (though serials above 14,000 are rear or unknown for any districts other than Minneapolis and Dallas). The serials above ~#2100 were sold as individual notes. Over the years collectors, including myself, have managed to put together matched serial number sets of 2,3,4,5,6 or more notes from these individually sold ones. Of course that results in a lot of notes ending up with no companion note. That's what these are. As a buyer, please message me on which serial numbers you would like from the list below. Auction winner gets those notes. If no message is received about what serial number the buyer would like then a random number will be sent. The list may include a condition note adjacent to the serial number. CGA is not an approved third-party grading service on eBay so they forbid photos of the note showing the numeric grade, but they are all uncirculated. After each sale I will re-post the auction with a revised serial number list of what's left. Buyer can message me after the auction if they are interested in multiple notes.
