Description: Couroc of Monterey Christmas Mouse round serving tray. Vintage mid-century design was inspired by the classic nursery rhyme, Hickory-Dickory-Dock. The adorable mouse is crafted of wood and brass inlay with a bright red Santa Claus hat. Above, the ornate brass and wood clock ticks away the hours before Christmas. The original gold label is affixed on the reverse.Couroc of Monterey opened in 1948 and employed artists to design these fabulous trays which were sold in exclusive, high-end stores. Trays were made of satin black phenolic resin with a raised outer rim and molded feet. Pieces are very durable and were carefully decorated by hand with colorful inlays. Designs frequently reflected life on the Monterey Peninsula.
