You are getting a Medium size plant that may be close to blooming size, but its leaves were trimmed for shipping from India. They are incredibly tough plants, and will bounce back once they are potted up. We ship bare root to lower shipping costs and therefore lower the price of the plant. Pot up in a well draining mixture of sand and top soil ( 1/2 and 1/2 ). Water well when first planting then only once a week or less if the soil is soggy. Don't expose to direct sunlight as this will burn their leaves! They have survived light frosts for me (next to the house) but they might not survive a hard freeze. Here in Arizona, zone 8 I've had them survive under a foot of snow, but they died down to the ground which is NOT good for them.
